It’s been pretty uneventful, and no unusual quirks have shown up. I still find it to be plenty comfortable, and have yet to regret giving up two doors. It does boring daily driver quite well. I still have yet to discover why the elderly people of Corvette pages find them scary to drive in the rain, or with the traction control off. The throttle is not an on/off switch, and even if you do get happy with it, you have to be really committed to hitting something. Is there anything you would like to know?

How can you drive it in the rain? Don’t your white New Balance sneakers get ruined?

What tires are you running currently? How are they in the wet? And tbh there is plenty of breathing room in the throttle assuming you don’t operate it like a transistor instead of a potentiometer

Is that a Seinfeld joke?

Can you actually put 3 golf bags in the back? What kind of mileage does it get?

How hard is it to deal with all the pussy that gets pulled towards that sex magnet?

Seriously , I love your car.

God those still look good, they have aged really well . Interior... well it's there lol. Last great pop up car

I can only speak to the targa (base) , not the coupe (Z06) . But yes, you could fit three golf bags in there. I managed to get two suitcases and a dog kennel in mine. The dog was not thrilled about the lack of space, but she managed to have enough room to curl up and fall asleep.

I get roughly 30mpg on the highway with cruise control on. In the city...well...it’s less. About 20-22mpg if I’m not in a hurry. Honestly though, that’s not too bad. Combi ned, it’s only a little bit thirstier than my daily driver Nissan Cube and its 1.8 L of fury.

So oversteer isn’t a problem in the rain then.  Do you have especially expensive performance tires? All seasons?

Probably, and I stopped measuring. My commute is half highway with me using copious amounts of throttle to dart around left laners, and half stop and go. The last tank I measured was like 18mpg.

I love it too, but it only attracts old men.

The interior is standard non-luxury 90's. It’s not much to look at, but it has less rattles and squeaks than my 2018 GTI had.

Well, before I was on 8 year old Pilot Sports, those were terrifying in the rain. I bought new Continental ExtremeContact Sports and it hasn’t rained that much. The little that I’ve driven in since, it feels like a normal car, and I feel like that is the best thing you can say about 27 5/295 summer tires in the rain.

I have to imagine it's moreso the "any RWD car" in the rain problem. Exacerbated by boatloads of power. I can easily end up sideways in my Miata in rain if I'm overzealous with the throttle. So it's only worse if you did the same with this car. If you have any semblance of what you are doing, it's not gonna go poorly.

Not cheap, but not the most expensive tires. They are summer tires, but 340tw Continental’s. They seem to be the best daily tire that can be used for fun, and be driven in everything except snow.

Right. I was thinking that would be something he’d need to watch out for, but apparently not, which is great.

I would think the short wheelbase of a Miata might make you more susceptible to snap oversteer with any amount of power.

Cool. Where I live, I have no problem living in all seasons. When I used up my expensive OEM Eagles on  my RX-8, I bought a set of much cheaper Falkens and never missed the Goodyears. Grip for general use was just as good.

Snap oversteer is pretty hard to run into due to the weight balance. I didn't even know what snap oversteer was until I drove an mr2 on an autocross course lol.

Meanwhile, I think I just hit the 50k mark with the 300, besides me hydroplaning it into a guardrail and the oil change where the mechanic forgot to put the cap back on the filter, it’s been equally uneventful.

It was intended to be a baby boomer joke, in the vein of the stereotypical 60 year-old Corvette owner . Which, I guess Jerry fits into more than a little bit . . .

True and GM at least tried to make it less of a parts bin. Especially with the first color heads up display.

Also I just don’t get the appeal of Germany “ quality”   anymore but that’s another story

Tires make a massive difference. The birdgestones I had on my M3 when I got it were scary to drive in the rain; I almost spun it on the highway in Corpus during a storm.  The Michelins I’ve had since then, not at all.
